I AM OLD
Oddly enough I just got four birthday comments on myspace. Weird I know!
So it really sucks to be turning 28. Why? Because I'm closer to 30? I dunno. Not really. I guess it's more because I realize that I'm running out of time to change my life's course and switch gears. Not that I really want to but that option of "oh he's just a young cat, that's normal" has pretty much run dry. Now I'm a responsible duder that's expected to keep on keepin' on. Regardless of all this shit, I'm old. I saw something on TV that made me remember all the stupid college parties I went to. Whatever, I'm sure if I went back now I would hate everyone there.
Speaking of college and old shit, I talked recently to a friend from college that I hadn't talked to in probably three years. Same old same old--at least in my mind. Didn't know I was married or had a kid, or was thinking of either. Guess that shows how close those relationships are that you think are enormously close. Whatever. It's amazing because I think once the conversation started I was ready for its foreclosure. Almost a "yeah yeah, I promise, pinky swear, we'll totally do stuff" kind of thing and if she reads this, well oh well. I mean come on--three years is an infinity plus two. And no one wants to deal with that. Moving on is an interesting aside of the growing up scenario that we all inevitably face in some fashion or another unless we're clingers. Well anyways....
The world needs more noise and I'm about ready to deliver. I want to work on a field recording project, pretty badly. I listened to some wacky noise abstract project Yellow Swans the other day. It set me off. I need to do this, finally. Help!
And to think I'm gonna be the big 2-8 on Monday. Fuck that. I don't know why age progression bothers me so much but it does. Whatever.
