Bush Uses Kid to Promote Retardedness
In Bush's first veto, he made a kid into a photo op to suit his moronic cave-dwelling neanderthal Christian right-wing base.
"This bill would support the taking of innocent human life in the hope of finding medical benefits for others," Bush said Wednesday afternoon. "It crosses a moral boundary that our decent society needs to respect. So I vetoed it."
But the simple fact is that this embroynic stem cell research would find cells from that which was to be thrown away from fertility clinics. The fact that Congress also passed the unnecessary "Fetal Farming" which wasn't needed since there was already a law banning that. But Congressional Republicans wanted to provide the President with some amount of lame ass coverage. Then again, I say fuck those assholes--let them rip apart their own party on an issue that is just playing to the so-called "base" (those same fucktards that aren't going to ever vote AGAINST a Republican anyway). I mean Nancy Reagan is for stem cells, so is Arrrrnold, Frist, and many more. But maybe I should just give 'em a taste of their own medicine, church sign style! I know that Republicans think that they can sway more Catholic votes over to them since the official Church position is against stem cells--but the Church is also against the death penalty and we all know Bush's feelings and direct actions (or inactions if you will) on that topical subject.
Yawn, American politics are dumb and yet effect our daily lives way too much to be totally ignorant towards. I wish more people felt the same sort of urgency that I have felt over the past several years. I mean, this is YOUR tax dollars at work. This is YOUR country. Why don't you care or try? No excuse is acceptable. Oh well, there goes my podium...
